Rohr Industries Inc. will spend $12 million on two new final assembly plants to be built in Arkansas, the company said Monday.
The plants, an 80,000-square-foot one in Sheridan and a 70,000-square-foot one in Heber Springs, will be financed by industrial revenue bonds.
The two buildings will satisfy Rohr’s “need for additional manufacturing capacity . . . and (lead to) a more even work flow at all of our facilities,” according to Rohr Chairman Harry W. Todd.
The new plants, which will serve as assembly points for nacelles, the structures that surround jet engines, will not reduce employment at Rohr’s Chula Vista and Riverside plants, according to a Rohr spokesman.
