Brooks Bros. and Ann Taylor may expand abroad.

Robert Campeau, chairman of Campeau Corp., which owns the two store chains, told shareholders at the annual meeting in Toronto that he would go to Italy for talks with officials of Fiat car company and Benetton apparel company. Both concerns have expressed interest in opening Ann Taylor and Brooks Bros. stores in Europe. The divisions are among the most profitable units of Allied Stores, which Campeau recently bought.
