Thai Customs Officials Seize Marijuana, Arrest Californian

BANGKOK, Thailand — Thai customs officers seized a record nine-ton haul of marijuana aboard a Thai fishing trawler and arrested 13 people, including a California man, officials said Tuesday.
A Thai customs official said a patrol boat stopped the trawler 70 miles off the southern coast of Thailand Sunday and found 300 bales of compressed marijuana wrapped in black plastic. The official said 13 men were arrested--12 Thai boat crewmen and U.S. citizen Walter Ullich, 38, of Sunset Beach, Calif.
