A judge approved conditions for the temporary separation of former middleweight champion Marvin Hagler and his wife, Bertha, who two weeks ago filed a complaint charging her husband with abuse.

The agreement extends a civil restraining order barring Hagler from his Hanover, Mass., home until the end of September. Hagler’s attorney said neither Hagler nor his wife has started legal separation or divorce proceedings.
