Cudahy : Commission on Aging Set
The Cudahy City Council has approved the establishment of a five-member commission on aging and senior citizens, and allocated a $5,000 budget to the newly created group.
Mayor John Robertson will select the commission members, who must receive final approval from the City Council. The council is expected to set the terms of office during its meeting next month.
The commission is to create and oversee programs, including recreational activities, for senior citizens, which make up about 5% of the city’s 20,000 population. The $5,000 budget will be used to implement senior citizen programs and cover any administrative costs, City Manager Gerald Caton said.
