Sean Penn does more than make movies and get into fights. Seven of Penn’s poems, which have titles like “Body Count” and “Leather Girls,” are included in the latest issue of Long Shot, a literary magazine published in New Brunswick, N.J. Danny Shot, 29, founder and editor of the magazine, says he contacted Penn after seeing a newspaper article mocking poetry that Penn recited at a benefit concert in Los Angeles. “I liked it,” says Shot, who claims the poems represent Penn’s first published work. “I don’t take poetry I don’t like.” A sample: “people are so funny/ they have hats and/ little shosees/ they make babies/ and wars/ eat wheaties/ and slaughter minks.”
