The brother of an American engineer who was slain in Nicaragua condemned the Reagan Administration’s aid to the contras . John Linder, 32, of New Orleans held a press conference in San Francisco during which he blamed the Administration for his brother’s death and said the President is “trying to prop up rebels who murder innocents.” Holding up a picture of his slain brother, Ben Linder, 27, of Portland, Ore., who was killed April 28 while working on a dam that was built to provide hydroelectric power to the city of San Jose de Bocay, he asked, “I wonder if Oliver North considers this a ‘neat idea’?”
