Generosity Lives in Yugoslav City

ZAGREB, Yugoslavia — Fishing money out of a 200-year-old wishing well in Republic Square in Zagreb has become a full-time job for one Yugoslav worker since it was found that more than two tons of cash had been tossed into it.
Officials in this Yugoslav city said that all the money, still to be counted, has been thrown into the well since the World Student Games started 12 days ago.
They enraged the public at the Republic Square site by suggesting that people throw the money into plastic boxes placed around the well. Authorities said that they plan to start an urban-restoration fund with the cash.
