Arrest Warrant for Penn Issued

An arrest warrant was issued today for “Bad Boys” actor Sean Penn, but it was stayed until Friday to give the actor time to prove that he hasn’t reneged on an agreement that postponed the start of his jail sentence for violating probation.
Penn had asked to postpone his 60-day jail sentence so he could finish film projects in West Germany and New York. The actor was to have left the country as of July 11. But Deputy City Atty. Alice Hand said Penn has been reported cavorting at night spots here and in New York. A Superior Court commissioner issued the warrant after she was unable to reach Penn’s lawyer, Howard Weitzman, to determine Penn’s whereabouts.
