Boxer Teofilo Stevenson remains in training and a top Cuban official dismissed reports that the Olympic champion has retired.
“That is not true at all,” said Manuel Guerra, president of Cuba’s National Olympic Committee. “He is still training and has not made any decisions. It is up to him, but he can still fight if he wants to.”
Stevenson, 36, a three-time Olympic gold medalist, has been charged in connection with the death of a motorcyclist in a traffic accident. Guerra said the incident will not effect Stevenson’s boxing future.
