JERUSALEM — Israel’s chief of staff, Gen. Dan Shomron, has ordered army suppliers to refashion the army’s khaki uniforms, an army spokesman said Tuesday.
The daily newspaper Maariv said the move was part of a plan to improve discipline in the armed forces after a state comptroller’s report last month criticized lax army conduct.
Maariv quoted Shomron as saying current army dress invites breaches of discipline, apparently because there are too many different uniforms and unclear rules about when each should be worn.
