El Monte : Spadra Hearing Canceled
The South Coast Air Quality Management District has canceled a hearing scheduled for Saturday in El Monte on the Spadra waste-to-energy plant, after the decision of directors of the county Sanitation Districts to withdraw the proposal.
The Sanitation Districts’ directors voted Monday to withdraw the application for a construction permit from the air quality district and instructed their staff to stop work on the project.
The decision came after cities that would have been served by the proposed Pomona plant declared their opposition to it.
