Fullerton’s Webster and UCI’s Brooks Taken in CBA Draft

Two Orange County college basketball players--Herman Webster from Cal State Fullerton and Scott Brooks from UC Irvine--were selected in the Continental Basketball Assn. draft Wednesday.
Webster, a 6-foot 7-inch center, was drafted by Rochester as the No. 4 pick of the second round--the 16th player chosen overall. Brooks, a 5-11 guard, was drafted by Albany as the second round’s No. 10 selection--22nd overall.
Webster averaged 10.7 points and 6.2 rebounds for the Titans last season and was the team captain. He averaged 10.6 points and 5.4 rebounds as a junior.
Brooks was 16th in the nation in scoring, averaging 23.8 points last season. He was voted first-team All-Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. and was an honorable mention All-American. Brooks scored 43 points, second highest in the school’s history, in the Anteaters’ 118-96 victory over Utah State last January in the first game played in the Bren Center.
