Girl, 6, Killed in Accidental Shooting

A 6-year-old El Monte girl died Sunday after being shot in the head as she and her 7-year-old brother played with a gun.
The accident occurred in an apartment in the 4000 block of Penn Mar Avenue, El Monte police said.
“It appeared her brother accidentally shot her” while the children’s mother was home, Sgt. Mark Howard said. The child died at Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina.
Identities of both children were being withheld.
