Nofziger Takes Leave From PAC

Lyn Nofziger has taken leave from his post as chairman of President Reagan’s political action committee after his indictment on ethics charges, a spokeswoman said today.
“It is obviously going to take time for Lyn to focus legally right now,” said Wendy Borcherdt, the new acting chairman of the Santa Monica-based Citizens for the Republic. Nofziger’s leave was effective July 20, she said. “He has not resigned.” The former White House political director pleaded innocent last week to charges that he violated federal ethics laws by using his connections to win a government contract for Wedtech Corp.
