Anthony Turney, deputy chairman for public partnership for the Washington-based National Endowment for the Arts, will take over the administrative functions of the San Francisco Opera on Aug. 14 as director of administration. Turney, who has been with the endowment for seven years, said Monday, “I’ve been wanting to move to the West Coast for some time,” he said. “I’m very excited about this new position; I couldn’t be happier.” Turney will handle all administrative functions for the company, a spokeswoman for the Opera said.
