GLASGOW, Scotland — Body-builder Karen Wood won a sex discrimination suit Tuesday against a Glasgow bar that didn’t want a female bouncer.
An industrial tribunal awarded 250 pounds (about $400) to the 19-year-old Wood as compensation for injury to her feelings.
She said her boyfriend was invited to interview for the part-time position at the Barracks Bar on the same day that she was told by telephone that the job was filled. Niljan Ltd., which owns the bar, has denied discriminating.
