A Palmdale motorist reported to the California Highway Patrol that a driver fired a shot at him late Tuesday on the Antelope Valley Freeway in the Canyon Country area, authorities said today.
The reported incident was the latest in a rash of traffic-related shooting in Southern California since mid-June. Four persons have died in the attacks. Phillip Toma, 26, was not hurt in the shooting, which he said occurred about 11 p.m. after a tailgating incident on the northbound freeway near Sand Canyon Road, CHP Officer Ralph Elvira said. No damage could be found on Toma’s vehicle, Elvira said.
