New York Times Co. and Time Inc. said they will merge their single-copy distribution operations under a partnership that will distribute their national magazines through wholesalers and directly to some retail outlets in the United States and Canada. Among the Time Inc. magazines to be marketed under the venture are Time, People, Sports Illustrated, Life, Fortune and Working Woman. New York Times titles to be distributed include Family Circle, Golf Digest and Tennis. These magazines are distributed by Retail Magazine Marketing Co.
