The Sacramento City Council agreed to join a drive to obtain a professional baseball team for the state capital by forming a commission to give the city’s official blessing to the effort.
“Even if you’re not into athletics, everybody talks about clean industries,” said Councilman Joe Serna, whose commission proposal was unanimously endorsed by the council. “This is not exactly smokestack. This is a major, clean industry. This would be a major tourist attraction.”
