Listening to the near-hysterical reports on both TV and radio network/local broadcasts, as well as the exaggerated coverage in the press, one could conclude that a repetition of the London Blitz hit the Southland. Human life here is at far greater risk from the continuous poisoning of our air, soil and water, all of which exist due to the greed of industry and the incompetence of government regulatory agencies. They are to be feared far more than earthquakes.
