Temple City : English Teacher Honored

Shirley Rosenkranz, an English teacher at Temple City High School, has been named one of 52 outstanding teachers in the nation in the “In Honor of Excellence” project sponsored by the National Assn. of Secondary School Principals, the Council of Chief State School Officers and Burger King.
Rosenkranz, who has taught in the Temple City Unified School District for 20 years, was named top teacher in the state last year. She is representing California in the national project.
In 1983, Rosenkranz started a student writing program at the high school. Her students’ stories and poems have filled three published books.
