The body of a man found on the Golden State Freeway in Castaic last week has been identified as that of a Mexican national who lived in Los Angeles, the coroner’s office said.
Roman Castro, 23, had been run over but died of multiple stab wounds, said Bob Dambacher, a spokesman for the coroner’s office. Castro was traced from papers found on him to an apartment complex on South Alvarado Street, Dambacher said Wednesday. Residents there provided the names of Castro’s family in Mexico.
Dambacher could not say how long Castro had been dead when a motorist spotted his body about 5 a.m. Saturday in the slow lane of the freeway a mile south of the Templin Highway exit.
