Inland Conference : Carpinteria Edges Whittier Christian

Cley Candaele caught a 15-yard touchdown pass late in game to give Carpinteria High School a 9-8 victory over Whittier Christian in an Inland Conference semifinal at Carpinteria.
Whittier Christian took an early lead by tackling a Carpinteria kicker in the end zone for a safety in the first quarter.
Whittier Christian led, 8-0, as Bill Pazian scored on a three-yard run.
Carpinteria kicked a 32-yard field goal in the second quarter to make it, 8-3, Whittier Christian.
