USIU Women Can’t Hold Lead and Lose to Cal State Fullerton

The United States International University women’s basketball team led at halftime but couldn’t hold on as Cal State Fullerton scored a 68-61 nonconference victory at the Jewish Community Center in La Jolla.
USIU led at halftime, 36-28, but Fullerton took the lead for good, 60-59, on an eight-foot jumper by Jennifer Lata with 2:54 remaining.
Fiona Murray scored 16 points and Sonya Carter added 15 for USIU (2-2). Wendy Anae led Fullerton (4-2) with 16 points.
Freshman Terri Mann, who played at Point Loma High School, scored 26 points to lead 11th-ranked Western Kentucky to an 80-56 victory over Kentucky at Bowling Green.
Mann also had 10 rebounds for Western Kentucky (6-0). Kentucky (5-1) kept the game close in the second half and trailed, 31-26, at the half.
