Portuguese President Mario Soares said that his country does not want to receive 72 U.S. F-16 fighter-bombers which Spain is pressing Washington to remove from a base near Madrid. “Portugal has no interest in taking on the F-16s at Torrejon base,” Soares said in a television interview ahead of a visit to Spain next week.
