A Van Nuys teen-ager was stabbed to death Thursday in what appeared to be an argument over a girlfriend, Los Angeles police said.
Mano Estrada, 17, was stabbed as he fought with a 19-year-old man on a sidewalk near Lennox Avenue and Sherman Way about 5:30 p.m., Sgt. Ted Hanson said.
The youth was taken to Valley Medical Center in Van Nuys, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Hanson said Estrada also was known as Maurice Granberry.
Hanson said the fight apparently was the result of a feud between the two over a mutual girlfriend. Police had detained the 19-year-old Van Nuys man for questioning in the killing.
