Toys R Us’ profit jumped 34% to $203.9 million in fiscal 1988. The Rochelle Park, N.J.-based speciality retailer said sales rose 28.3% to $3.137 billion. The company said it opened 42 stores in the United States and 13 internationally during the year. Same-store sales rose 10.1%. The company said fourth-quarter earnings rose 33% to $154.3 million.
