BOULDER CITY, Nev. — Residents of Boulder City were awakened in the predawn hours Thursday by a small earthquake, the third in recent weeks. There was no damage reported in the town or at nearby Hoover Dam.
The 3:01 a.m. quake was centered about 5 miles southwest of Boulder City and registered 2.8 on the Richter scale, the Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colo., reported.
The shaker was the third in the area since Feb. 22, when a 3.7 magnitude quake was recorded. That was followed by a 3.2 temblor on March 7.
