Jeanne Bray; Five-Time Women’s Police Pistol Champion
Jeanne Bray, 56, a five-time national women’s police revolver champion. Ms. Bray won the National Women’s Police Combat Pistol Championship, sponsored by the National Rifle Assn., in 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965 and 1967. In 1984, Ms. Bray, a 28-year member of the Columbus, Ohio, Police Department, was a nominee for the Outstanding American Handgunner Award. Considered an authority on personal protection, she traveled widely to lecture on the subject. She filmed a self-defense program for Dutch television and developed a slide show for baby-sitters. In Columbus on Wednesday of complications of heart surgery.
