The Pittsburgh Penguins, who have not reached the National Hockey League playoffs since 1982, fired General Manager Eddie Johnston and will replace him with former Chicago Blackhawks goalie Tony Esposito, the Pittsburgh Press reported.
Esposito, 44, brother of Phil Esposito, the New York Rangers’ general manager, has been an NHL Players Assn. official since retiring as a player in 1984.
