‘Three to Get Ready’
‘No Applause, Just Throw Money’
U.S.A., 1987, 103 minutes , noon Rock group Duran Duran so approved of “Three to Get Ready,” a documentary on preparing for their reunion tour, that they asked director David Gasperik to make a second film of the concerts. They must not have realized that the film makes them seem pleasant and intelligent in the blandest possible way: a lot of talk about maturity and career, scarcely a word about music. Also “No Applause,” Karen Goodman’s joyous collection about Manhattan street performers.
