Local News in Brief : No Changes in Recount

A recount Friday confirmed the results of the April 12 Huntington Park City Council election in which incumbents Thomas E. Jackson and Jack W. Parks retained their seats, City Clerk Marilyn Boyette said.
The recount was requested by Raul R. Perez, who finished 21 votes behind Parks in the initial count. Perez said he had no plans to further contest the election results.
“There’s nothing else I can do now,” he said.
In the recount, Jackson received 1,150 votes, Parks 1,059 and Perez 1,041. A fourth candidate, Raul Aragon, had 783.
