Zola Budd Is Caught Between the Political Rock and Hard Place

Would someone please advise the International Amateur Athletic Federation that the Olympic Games are (or should be) about athletic excellence? Also tell them there is a big difference between team and individual competition.
If they are good enough to be there, we want to see Brian Oldfield, Wolfgang Schmidt and Zola Budd. Perhaps the IAAF could take a vote among black South Africans to see if it’s OK with them for Zola to compete.
