The U.S. Coast Guard suspended a search for 28 Polish crewmen from a Greek-owned tanker that broke up and burned in the North Atlantic off Canada. The 560-foot tanker Athenian Venture was carrying 27,000 tons of gasoline to New York from Amsterdam when it caught fire and split in two about 370 miles southeast of Cape Race, Newfoundland, late Thursday. Searchers recovered the badly burned body of crewman Andrej Szukalski, 41, on Friday.
