West Los Angeles : 6 National Merit Scholars

Six local high school seniors are among 1,800 students nationwide receiving college scholarships through the National Merit Scholarship Corp. Each student will receive a $2,000 scholarship to be applied toward the college of his or her choice.
The winners include William J. Hulkower of Yeshiva University of Los Angeles High School; Jennifer Lord of the Westlake School; Michael Dorff and David Zimmerman, both of Beverly Hills High School, and James Gino and Jeanine N. Yamanaka, both of Venice High School.
They were among the top scorers in the state on the 1986 Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
