Azusa Pacific Leads NAIA Track Finals

Steve Prokop won the hammer throw with a toss of 214 feet 3 inches to help give Azusa Pacific the first-day men’s team lead in the NAIA Track and Field Championships Thursday at Azusa.
Azusa Pacific, going for its sixth consecutive title, scored 21 points after four events. Adams State of Colorado and Pittsburg State of Kansas were tied for second with 17 points. Point Loma Nazarene was fourth with 14 points, and Jamestown, N.D., and Tarleton State of Texas were tied for fifth with 10 points.
