Softball : Three Titles to Be Decided at Helix Field

SAN DIEGO — Madison’s Debbie Corbett and Fallbrook’s Tori Spiekerman, who pitched different kinds of shutouts in their teams’ semifinal victories Thursday, will be in the spotlight today when the two teams meet in the San Diego Section 3-A softball championship game at Helix High at 3 p.m.
Castle Park (20-9) and University of San Diego High School (17-7) will meet in the 2-A final at Helix at 12:30. Mountain Empire (19-4) and Bishop’s (19-3) will meet in the 1-A title game at Helix at 10 a.m.
Corbett pitched a no-hitter Thursday to lead Madison (28-2) past defending champion Monte Vista, 3-0, and has allowed only one hit in two complete-game playoff victories. Corbett walked one and hit a batter in her no-hit victory and struck out 10.
