Sheriff’s Commander Ends 32-Year Career

James White, a 25-year resident of Whittier, has retired as a commander with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. In his 32-year career he served as captain of the records bureau, special services bureau and central jail. After being promoted to commander in 1977, he directed the administrative division, Region 2 operations and headed sheriff’s stations in Firestone, Carson and Lomita.
