BASKING RIDGE, N.J. — American Telephone and telegraph Co. said it plans to accelerate the introduction of a new class of digital telephone services designed for business customers.
AT&T; said the services, now offered in 18 U.S. cities, would be available in another 44 by June 30, 1989, six months earlier than previously planned. More cities will be added later in 1989.
The timetable is being moved up in response to “fantastic customer demand” for the services, said AT&T; spokeswoman Daisy Ottmann.
