Local News in Brief : Special Election Set for Assembly Seat

Gov. George Deukmejian on Thursday called a special election to fill the Assembly seat left vacant in October by the death of Inglewood Democrat Curtis R. Tucker.
The primary in the 50th Assembly District was set for April 11 to coincide with the Los Angeles mayoral election. If no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote, the top two will be in a runoff June 6.
