Justice Brennan, 82, Returns After Surgery

WASHINGTON — Supreme Court Justice William J. Brennan Jr., who underwent surgery to remove his gallbladder two weeks ago, returned to the court Tuesday.
Brennan, 82, was hospitalized Dec. 8 with chills and fever, a condition at first diagnosed as pneumonia. Doctors later determined that he had non-malignant gallbladder disease.
