High School Roundup : Brown Leads Kennedy Past Hamilton

A day after scoring 32 points, Randy Brown of Kennedy High continued his torrid shooting in the Malibu tournament at Pepperdine, scoring 30 points in the Golden Cougars’ 66-59 victory Tuesday over Hamilton in a consolation semifinal.
Kennedy (6-3), which lost to Dorsey, 74-63, in the first round, will meet Franklin in the consolation championship Thursday.
Brown, a 6-5 senior forward, hit 10 of 16 field-goal attempts and 10 of 14 free throws.
Tied, 44-44, after the third period, the Golden Cougars hit all 6 of their shots in the final quarter to outscore the Yankees, 22-15.
Dana Dotson had 12 points and 12 rebounds and Garrett Anderson scored 15 points for Kennedy.
Taft 81, Roosevelt 61--All 10 players scored for the Toreadors in the quarterfinal game of the Eagle Rock tournament. Dedan Thomas had a game-high 19 points--15 in the first half--for Taft, which improved to 8-1 and will play L. A. High in the semifinals at 7 tonight.
Taft’s Jason Deyoe had 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
Thousand Oaks 66, Cascade 65--Sophomore forward Jeff Lysobey converted a 3-point play with with 12 seconds left to give the Lancers (5-3) a first-round win in the Northwest Prep Classic at Seattle.
John Bushart had 21 points and 11 rebounds for Thousand Oaks.
