THE PREPS : Simon Seizes Opportunity in Saddleback’s Victory

Sean Simon scored 5 points in the final 2 minutes as Saddleback High School held off Laguna Beach for a 55-49 victory Wednesday night at Laguna Beach.
The Roadrunners, ranked No. 1 in Orange County, led by just 4 points late in the game before Simon hit a 3-point field goal and added 2 free throws.
Malru Dottin scored 18 points and Simon 16 for Saddleback (13-1). Craig Marshall had 13 points for the Roadrunners.
Laguna Beach led at halftime, 32-31, but was outscored, 11-8, in the third quarter.
Dain Blanton scored 14 points and John Trevino 11 for Laguna Beach (5-7).
