THE PREPS : Soccer Roundup : Kennedy Gets Back at Bolsa Grande With 5-1 Victory

Last season, the Kennedy High School boys’ soccer team dominated every team in the Garden Grove League with one exception: Bolsa Grande.
The Matadors were the only blemishes on Kennedy’s 12-1-1 league record last season. On Wednesday, the Fighting Irish extracted a little revenge.
Mark Florek and Diego Abbes each scored twice as Kennedy routed the Matadors, 5-1, in a league match at Bolsa Grande. Last season, the Matadors beat the Fighting Irish, 3-1, and tied them, 3-3.
Kennedy is 3-3-2 overall, 2-0 in league play.
In other Garden Grove League matches:
La Quinta 3, Rancho Alamitos 2--Chad Morelli and Chris Doherty scored second-half goals as the Aztecs (5-5, 1-1) broke a 1-1 halftime tie at Rancho Alamitos.
Pacifica 6, Santiago 0--Chad Noyes, Daniel Barber, Collin Servern, John Aggen, Chris Wells and Kevin Ashworth scored for Pacifica (6-0-1, 3-0).
In nonleague matches:
Anaheim 7, Sonora 2--Mike Tsarnas scored 3 goals and assisted on another to lead Anaheim (4-0-2) at Sonora.
Canyon 1, Esperanza 0--Chris Snitko made 6 saves in recording the shutout for host Canyon (10-2-1). Randy Campbell scored with 7 minutes left in the first half.
La Habra 3, Garden Grove 0--Jamie Hutcherson scored 2 goals and set up teammate Jose Mendosa for a third to lead host La Habra (5-3-1).
Loara 2, Cajon 0--Andy Medlin and Brent Narasaki scored for Loara (6-4-2).
Newport Harbor 2, Irvine 2--Risto Lindfores and Steve Bone scored for host Irvine (5-1-4). Billy Castahna and David Pattison scored for Newport Harbor (4-2-3).
