The entertainment industry will bid goodby to the monthly Hollywood Reporter Magazine after its March issue, when it will merge into the former-American Film Institute magazine, American Film. Both publications, as well as the daily Hollywood Reporter, have been purchased by entertainment industry mega-publisher Billboard Publications Inc. The new Hollywood-produced American Film will have a changed logo and will be larger, feature more international coverage and additional essays and observations of the film community, and will be printed on slicker paper, said editor Chris Hodenfield. “It’s going to be a writers’ magazine . . . that is filled with serious and high purpose but at the same time fun,” he said Thursday. “We’re trying to put some more fire in the magazine.”
