An ad campaign running on the nation’s largest Spanish-language television network urges legal immigrants to apply for U.S. citizenship. The public service announcements, produced by the Univision network and the National Assn. of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials, are being aired by the network’s 492 affiliates nationwide, including KMEX Channel 34 in Los Angeles. The ads feature Hispanic politicians and other celebrities and give a toll-free telephone number to call for more information on how to apply for citizenship. They are projected to continue for several more months on Univision affiliates.
