A recent segment of “The Reporters” dealing with the high cost of the inaugural festivities really angered me. It portrayed the government as inhumane because it was spending millions of dollars to honor its new president and our country while the homeless were overlooked. The reporter on the piece never once mentioned where those millions came from, which was from individuals and private businesses who certainly have the right to donate their money as they see fit. In its deletion of this pertinent information, “The Reporters” implied that the government was footing the bill and ignoring the homeless. Not very responsible journalism in our opinion.
