LOCAL : INS Adds 3 Airports to Sweeps

Immigration agents looking for suspected illegal aliens boarding flights out of Southern California expanded their search to four airports and made 73 arrests, authorities said today.
Immigration and Naturalization Service agents, who have regularly swept Los Angeles International Airport during the last week, added Long Beach, Ontario International and John Wayne airports to the list on Monday night.
Agents took 17 undocumented aliens into custody at Ontario and 56 illegal immigrants at Los Angeles International, INS District Director Ernest Gustafson said. There were no arrests at John Wayne or Long Beach, he said.
