A 50-Point Fourth Quarter Carries Warriors Past Clippers, 138-112

OAKLAND — Forward Rod Higgins hit a trio of three-point goals, and Chris Mullin and Mitch Richmond scored 12 points apiece in a 50-point fourth quarter to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 138-112 victory over the Clippers Tuesday night.
The Warriors trailed, 89-88, going into the final quarter, but Golden State ran up its second-highest quarter total in franchise history to break open the game inasmuch as the Clippers managed only 23 points during the same span. The Warriors scored on 23 consecutive possessions during their hot fourth quarter.
The loss was the 13th in a row for the Clippers, who have also dropped 32 of their last 33 games and are 2-33 on the road this season.
Mullin led the Warrior attack with 31 points, and Richmond added 28. Higgins scored 15 points in less than one half of play.
Forward Ken Norman of the Clippers had a career-high 38 points to lead all scorers. Guard Quintin Dailey, moved back into a starting role, added 21 points.
